- Logo:
- Possibly more hierarchy with the width of the font and logo or the same width with the font and logo because it does not feel connected.
- Connect the lines in the logo more because in some places they are not connected.
- Also make the background on the top a png file so the lines go away.
- Style:
- Lighten turquoise picture to match the lightness of the other picture.
- Steps:
- Maybe have the spoon go in the jar, but someone else said they like it the way it looks now.
- Explore more with the throw picture as it doesn't connect with the other pictures.
- Use a different typeface for the descriptions or a lighter version of the typeface for the descriptions.
- Make sizes different with the steps or switch around where the titles are (put them where the descriptions are)
- Thin out the width of the lines in the picture for Done to match the other pictures.
- More space at the bottom of the icons
- Overall explore different colors or fonts for the titles of things

Week 7B
In class today we had critique on our final websites. This is the feedback from top to bottom that I was given on my website:

Week 6 Outside of Class
I distanced the drips, but it still looks off with the logo so I will work on fixing that. I also changed the overlay and will ask others opinions in class Wednesday.
Finished project:
Week 6B
In class I tried distancing the drips as said in the critique, but that didn't look right so instead I made the band bigger height wise. I also took the logo out of the circle and made the text and logo relationship more equal and bigger. I also changed the overlay so the wording has a shadow and could be visible with the product.
Week 6A
Today we had a critique on 50% of our websites. The class and professor gave me great feedback. I got feedback on the header and to distance the drips, so it would not take away from the rest of the project. Also I need to fix my logo and take it out of the circle so that text is more readable and the focus on the website. I should also find a better color for the type, maybe grey or something lighter than what I have now. Then for the "Styles" I need to take out the color on the overlay so the product can be seen with the title.

Week 5 Outside of Class
Today, September 28th, I met with my mentor Cassidy and she gave me lots of good feedback and help. I still plan to change my logo with the font which she agreed upon. I also changed my line height which helps space out the paragraph in the about a lot better than before. Cassidy helped me figure out how to add a responsive effect to my pictures and how to make them rounded. All of this was done in the code using overlay, border-radius, text, etc. Another thing I worked on was better organizing my code because I found that I was having a hard time navigating through it. Still lots to do with the logo and spacing, but I am very happy so far with where I am at.
Week 5B
In class I worked on my goal of making the drips bigger and having more distance between them. I also added the about content with new font and plan to start the style content soon as well. Finally I added the background which is a white cement texture to compliment the clay from the cups and provide a subtle texture in the background.
Week 5A
In class I worked on putting graphics in the header of my website. This created some challenges as the drips would not line up with each other when I would repeat them in the code. I might go back and change the drips because they need to be spaced out more to match the design of the cups. I also might change the logo to having the brand name on the bottom instead of at the side and I might change the font. My goal for Monday is to get the about and style content done and try to add the responsive aspect to the style content.

Week 4 Outside of class
I really worked on my goals of adding colors that compliment the mugs and adding textures from the images of the mugs. I also made the drips as a texture since I will be incorporating them throughout the website, but I will probably change the color depending on where they are place. With the textures from the images, I tried to choose ones that would compliment the colors and that were all different and interesting to one another.
For class we started making the base for our website. It was hard at first because the top and bottom margins would not work. Eventually, I figured it out and was able to lay it out based off each sections and the components of those sections.
Week 4A
For class today we reviewed our layouts for our websites. Then we learned about what a style tile is and we are applying what we learned to make our own style tile. With mine I would like to include the drips which I have included in all of my layouts I designed. I would also like to include colors from the mugs that they make which will be incorporated throughout the site such as blues, pinks, browns and tans. I also hope to include textures from the mugs themselves because the textures are very unique but would compliment everything very well if it were a background. My decision for the header font was made because it curves like the glaze curves on the mugs. Then when adding the subheader font it adds simplicity to the rest of the fonts, yet compliments the header.

Week 3B
For my kickstarter that I am making a website for I decided on Es Ceramics. I really liked the different colors of their products and I thought I could do a "how to" for the website as well as feature all their products. In class I just decided on what I wanted to put on the website and designed one layout. Throughout all my websites I might stick with some sort of dripping image because their one mug they had really intrigued me with the way they let the paint drip.

Week 3 Outside of Class

This company is a blind tea tasting. The name in itself got me right away, but the explanation of it all is so interesting. I actually never heard of this before and for this campaign they spoke of sending four different kinds of teas every month for the customer to guess on what they were. The package that is sent comes with a guide to different teas, the answers for the teas, the teas themselves and tea filters. Then the customer guesses and if they really like a certain tea they can buy it off the website. The company also keeps track of what teas you like and will tailor the teas they send to your preferences. I really enjoy tea, so this would be something I would buy and it could help me find new teas to drink.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2098368300/deary-turning-best-chat-messages-into-unique-books?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=deary%20book
This company is called Deary. I was confused based off of the name, but looking into the company it was quite interesting. Deary is an app where you put any chats you might want to save with someone and it saves those chats into a folder. Once you are satisfied with what you have put in the folder you can actually print out a book with everything in it. It was interesting to me because there are times I wished I had saved that one conversation or where I wish I could see the things I liked in my conversations all together. This is also a really cool gift idea for a parent, sibling or best friend to just look back on the times you have had together via text. We are such a tech savvy world that the book would just be a small representation of our life or a diary without having to write the day to day.

My two other designs I made include the drip with just a rearrangement of the different elements I wish to include on my website. I would really like to try and make my pictures responsive so they only show a word until a mouse is dragged over them to reveal the image. I think this would make the user more intrigued and seek to go further through the website.
Week 3A
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/598730443/es-ceramics-bespoke-reusable-coffee-cups?ref=nav_search&result=project&term=es%20ceramics
In class I found this kickstarter campaign called Es Ceramics. It stood out to me because of the colorful mugs pictured. Reading more into the company, I really loved the fact every mug was handmade and unique. This definitely makes them stand out in the coffee mug business due to the uniqueness and variety of their mugs. The possibilities are endless because the making of the mugs can only be controlled to a certain point. They also had different themes for the mugs including rainbow, rustic, turquoise, etc. which stood out to me as well. The topper for the mugs were quite simple, but so innovative towards the general use of the mug. Overall, I just found the idea very compelling because of its uniqueness and the fact that every mug sold is different in some way.
